Entry that checks itself
Depths must advance, hours must add up, and unaccounted time gets flagged while the crew is still on the deck. A paper PLOD accepts anything written on it; a digital one argues back before submit.
Digital PLOD
A PLOD is only useful if the office can read it, trust it, and bill from it. Moving it from carbon paper or a spreadsheet to a purpose-built app changes what the same twenty minutes of shift-end writing gets you.
Depths must advance, hours must add up, and unaccounted time gets flagged while the crew is still on the deck. A paper PLOD accepts anything written on it; a digital one argues back before submit.
Full offline mode on Android tablets. The shift is logged at the rig and uploads on its own when coverage returns. No pile of data entry at the end of the hitch.
The shift the driller submits is the record the office reports and bills from. No re-keying into a workbook, no version drift between camp and head office.
Meters at the contracted rate, standby hours, consumables passed through. Every invoice line traces back to the PLOD they came from, exported as PDF or in QuickBooks and Xero format.

Rate card × the shift record. There is no spreadsheet in between, so there is nothing to reconcile afterwards.
