For mines running their own rigs
Your drilling record, made at the rig and approved by your people.
For drill departments running their own rigs. Hiring drilling contractors too? See contractor management.
What your drilling superintendent gets
A shift nobody can quietly change
Someone other than the submitter approves it. Then it's locked; reopening takes an admin and a reason. Both names print on the PLOD.
Problems come to you
Overlapping depths, wedge kick-off errors and core loss longer than the run are flagged for review and block approval until they're settled. Mis-dated shifts and double-booked rigs or crews are flagged too.
Budget vs actual, per rig, per month
Paste the corporate budget grid. “Never budgeted” is kept apart from “budgeted zero for demob”.
Month-end, without the spreadsheet
What your GM asks you on the 5th of the month
Metres per rig against budget, daily and cumulative metres, holes drilled, hours by category with downtime and standby, crew attendance and fuel per metre: out as a PDF or Excel management report from the shift record. Bit life, stock on site and progress against plan sit on screen beside it.

For the geologist overseeing the program
Programs, holes and planned depths, with boundaries and collars on a map.
Downhole surveys, CSV import, and a progress forecast against plan.
Duplicate holes merged without losing history; wedges without double-counted metres.

More for mines
Your contractor's invoice, checked line by line
Upload the contractor's own PDF. Each line is matched to the shifts you approved, even when the contractor doesn't use DrillLogs.
Notes read against the numbers, and a month-end summary
AI reads the drillers' notes against what was logged, and a summary links every figure to its shifts. It flags; you decide.
Start with one rig
Eight weeks, one rig, one program, alongside your paper PLOD for the first two weeks, across one month-end. Success criteria are agreed before day one. The pilot is paid.
